Hi,

Just happened to get look under my Chimaera today and tug on the track rods. Found there is radial play in the rack on the LHS. Presumably there are bushings that hold the rack in place. Are they available, or does anyone know the dimensions of them to get some machined?

The rack itself is bolted to the chassis with 4 x 13mm bolts, no bushes that I've seen.

If you need to replace the rack, a recon manual rack is over £200 and a new one £400. If it's a power steering rack, they aren't available new any more, with recon ones at £360. All plus VAT of course at TVR Parts.

Some certain breakers are asking for more than this for used steering racks!

Kiley Clinton come recommended if you want to have your own rack reconditioned, but I've not used them myself.

I mean bushings inside the unit that the rack itself is held in place with and allow it to move

Apologies. I believe there are just bearings inside the rack supporting the rack but a quick search and I've been unable to find any internal details on the rack or photos other than this generic one:
