Hi all
Really struggling to decide if I want straight through pipes. I have all cats in place and want it to remain that way. Just a touch more volume would be great without irritating the neighbours!
I live near Wrexham. Does anyone have one with this mod who would be so kind as to let me listen before I jump in? Or if there it a meet in this area I'll get down there.
New to the forum so that's to all in advance.

Just had one fitted today by forum member as he had one for sale all I can say is everyone has there own opinon , and I was the same as had one fitted on my Boxster and it was terrible horrible drone at 3K RPM I.e any cruising speed and didn’t want to same on the TVR but the sleeved exhaust was not as “raw” as I expected just has a lovely tick over sound opens it up on acceleration and few pops and decel nothing obnoxious just a lovely enhancement to the V8 as for neighbors etc I can hear diesels starting in the mornings etc or the boyracer boom boxes 😂😂 it’s a big thumbs up from me (mine is stock with precats and cats ) hope this helps

Yes the same watched lots of YouTube vids etc and read lots of posts on forum and was 50/50 after my mistake on the Porsche (that was horrible absolutely st sound) but this sounds beautiful and know where near the raw sound i was dreading , just gives it a nice growl , think it’s when u remove cats things can change with sound !

Sleeeved with cats is a big thumbs up from me ! And any TVR specialist can/would do the mod ! I was lucky that forum member had one and even offered to fit it (on my drive with axle stands) and can’t thank him enough for the offer and effort he went too

Welcome to TVR ! Only had mine few weeks and love it ! I’m a petrol head but learnt lots on these since ownership thanks to other members etc !

I have had just about every variation of exhaust mod. If your not sure try. Wrapping the perf pipe. Fully wrapped is the same as sleeved, 50 to 75 % sounds great, I love cherry bombs and think that is the best combination with the main cat still in. Get rid of pre cats though if you can.

Removing pre cats is a good idea for a tad more power/heat dissipation but imo creates the dreaded drone!

Yesterday TVRSJW car fully Catted with fully sleeved exhaust was a real surprise. At least 10db quieter than when the same exhaust was on my car with pre catts removed.

If your ever near a track try asking for a quick noise test Steve, it’s a Tvr they will be only to glad to hear it and won’t charge you or owt.
Mine at 4000 revs was 104db with that pipe which is very loud.

The tickover (tug boat) as some describe it was not like that. Just sounded like an old school V8 and still retained a nice burble rather than a bit tinny and metallic as it was on mine.

Very happy a new owner got what he wants. thumbup

Anyone considered fitting one of the electric valves the yanks use a lot?
Best of both worlds.

Why don’t you two just have your own meet? Just pick a pub somewhere in the middle and enjoy a Sunday drive.....it’s not as if you are opposite ends of the country.

I've had different setups ,My personal opinion are if the cats are left in I would go for the ACT sports exhaust or if you don't want to spend the money make one the same .
It has very a nice rasp but not agricultural .Get rid of the silencer box completely and either buy two silencers or have two made .

The only reason I got rid is because of my decatt Y piece ,it was just to noisy so swopped back to a standard exhaust and the decatt Y piece ,which is perfect for me

The raspy ACT I think makes a nice noise.

This was my converted exhaust..
