Paint code P422-EMB8B
Discussion
I've seen this paint code on a 1999 Chimaera ID plate but searching online and on all the paint code threads a search on here can return, I can find no mention of P422-EMB8B. Anybody know what it is? It's not a typo, I've seen a photo of the plate.
It's a dark red, similar to ruby mica I had 20 years ago, but I'm unsure if it's metallic or maybe pearlescent.

Hi, I’m guessing that you’re looking to have some paint to repair or respray(?).
If so, I’d recommend ignoring the paint code and taking the car to a paint shop with a spectrometer.
The reason is that even if you did buy some paint to match the original code, it’s highly unlikely to match what is on the car following 20+ years of ageing and any subsequent resprays.

It's the paint code on a car that's for sale. I've only seen photos so far, including the ID plaque.
Having had several TVRs in the past, I know some paint colours can be more easily matched than others. And the cost can vary a lot for mica / pearlescent etc.
Edited to add for later searches: It is apparently 'Canyon Red.'
