Looks ok to me (I used to have one), what looks odd about the MOT history?

The odometer reading.

It was on 50,511 in 2010 and is on 50,001 at the last MOT where the tester advised that the “body has slight corrosion”!!!

Oh, rusty fibreglass? Might need to check all the receipts in the "full service history" carefully...

Can’t this just be a consequence of someone taking car for MOT and forgetting last years ticket and guessing mileage.
That would be my guess.

Isn’t it the responsibility of the MOT Tester to ensure he records the mileage from the odometer rather than the owner saying “Oh I think it is around 50,000”?

Isn’t there an issue with some TVRs when they reach 50,000 miles that the odometer sticks? If that is the case, it would make me suspicious of what other faults the car had that the owner couldn’t be bothered to fix over the last ten years.

..and as for rusty bodywork??

I’ve never known a Tvr anywhere that is 100% perfect at all times.
My Speedo reads mileage accurately enough but it’s been slightly jumping for years. It’s one of those I’ll do it when everything else that operates the car works first. That and not wanting my car off the road for 3 months or longer waiting for speedy cables repair always put me off!

I’ve not read the add.
If it reads rusty bodywork in the history file be prepared for rotting cills biggrin I remember those buggers rofl
Everything is negotiable you would hope wink
Oh, it says new riggers and garaged the last 7 years.
Agreed it does seem cheap. Priced to sell maybe!
55,000 miles so that has to be classed as low mileage for year though that’s actually classed as high mileage with some dealers frown

ask for chassis pictures and go from that.

visually the car lokks to be in good shape...but all discussion is useless without chassis-pictures. (and dont relate on the MOT, would not be the first TVR with heavy corrosion having passed the anual MOT)

and ask if the service history shows a camshaft change....with this mileage it could be already worn.

It's been on the PH Classifieds for months so perhaps nobody seems to think it's cheap enough? The asking price may have been dropped a bit mind:

The mileage is what piqued my concern first.

The colour coding on the engine gives the look of a cared for example. The lack of an MOT since 2018 less so......

I'm sort of half looking at the moment and spotted that so checked mot, it reads neglect, same advisory faults a couple of years running.

It looks lovely, I had a yellow 500 years ago but I'd say beware, a neglected tvr could really cost.

A dealer wouldn't list a car too cheap without reason I reckon.

I can’t see any reason to suggest this car has been neglected from the pictures I can see. Unless someone just likes painting things it generally looks tidy and the add says it’s well sorted or similar.

Don’t you have to go look then appraise it? If the colours float your boat this has to be a bit of a bargain surely!

Maybe not in down turn Britian frown
