Can anyone describe how to best replace the odometer battery in my early Chim please? Any pitfalls or anything to note?
Cheers,
Phil.

I never heard of a battery in the odometer. Are you sure that it is just not working anymore?

Early 1993 / 94 ones had an LCD digital odometer display. I'm aware of it but don't have a solution suggestion, the instruments usually need specialist equipment to get them apart other than prising the bezel off using tools. frown

Ive read it can be done with care, bezel needs to be prised off which will be the hardest thing without damage. Maybe some old credit cards would be handy here.
Mileage will also go back to zero.
They can be sent away to do but the companies are not the quickest on turnaround,

You will need to buy an external battery case and a grommet for the wires as you go through the rear metalwork, so that the 3V can be changed going forward at service points (it will also fail if have to jump start the car). I have a generator to bring the mileage up to as was, supplied from the guy on PH (I cannot find the link ATM), but it is here somewhere. I am based Coventry if you get stuck, as I have done a few and still have cases and grommet around me. A@
