Under the dash where your left knee is when sat in it.

They won't have moved the button or connection.

Ignition on.

Try to PM me .. Is your Email correct on PH ????

Only if I know your email hehe
Obviously the lock is NOT operating otherwise the boot would open , I guess you can hear the solenoid click ... Could be the it's lost it's "spring" .. try pulling it open when the solenoid is activated ... if it opens put some neoprene tubing in the rubber seal to give it a "ping" ..... Otherwise PM me

Hi,
The Car had the Locks redone by Carl Baker and the Boot release was incorporated into the ignition key, original button under dash has been removed.

Carl left the switch in place and wired on mine.

Guess you can choose to have it removed.

Hope you get sorted.

If the solenoid is weak pressing on the boot while operating the switch can release it.

I expect you've tried that.

Secret entry should still be available.

Spoken with OP and even the secret way is not available ... The only option appears to be cuttrng a hole in the boot frown

Can you hear the solenoid trying to fire? If not, do you know where the solenoid wiring feeds from to put 12v to it?

This is what I had to do many times.

The 2001 model will have the "other" secret emergency boot release.

No you’re exactly right. Which is where the boot release is.

I seem to remember the boot release was by my right knee?

But as I say the passage of time and all that. (I probably only operated it 2,000 times hehe)

It wasn't actually his car , he's the RO for Mid Essex and was helping a member. All the obvious things have been ruled out , the secret way has been disabled. The solenoid is making a noise but no lock movement , so ether the lock latch mechanism is knackered or the solenoid. And there's not much petrol in the car frown .
PS I got my Chim modified , so besides having it on the fob , I have a button under the lip of the boot (which only works when the car is unlocked).... With the standard TVR set up , it's bloody difficult pressing the switch under the dash and pressing the boot ... You need long arms hehe
