OK, anyone who manages to help with this one wins a pint. Maybe a decent pint, who knows.
After a recent stint at the dealer, my Chim came back in a state where the heater seemed to be blowing hotter than normal... even when the temperature control was set on the coldest setting. By "hotter than normal" I mean that with the roof up I need the windows open, even in January/February style outside temperatures.
Is this normal? With the centre dash vent open, it's almost too hot to keep my hand in the air stream as it exits the vent.
Now, dealer (we all know which one) says that it'll never get totally cold. Fairy nuff. But I personally don't think that it should get blazing hot.
Irritatingly, of course, the weather had changed between the car going in, and the car arriving back after five weeks away, so I could be accused of making this all up. However, I don't recall the heater running at all hot, even in the middle of summer when I first got the car. So what gives?
Cheers.
gt: thanks, I checked the actuator thingumy bob, and it is indeed unencumbered by any bits of carpet, string and sealing wax (that *is* how these cars are made, isn't it?)
I can see that the arm that controls the valve moves through the full extent of its travel from one end to t'other when I wiggle the temperature control.
Any further ideas anyone?
