They have quite comprehensive websites, and if they can't sort you out noone can. I don't claim to be an expert but if I were you I'd have a 'zorst' for a start. I take it that you are already sporting a set of Senta alloys?

Its a great car, go for it.
Your looking at the X150 model (shape) which doesnt have too many problems, mainly due to its age.
Unfortunatly this also means that there are not many upgrades for the car yet. The older X100 shape can be infinately upgraded and played with, but the X150 is yet to develop a fiddling following (if that doesnt sound pervy)
Anyway, great car, better than the porker in my opinion, mainly as it has character and feeds emotion rather than clinical over engineering. Each to their own tho
I'm sure you will enjoy it

Hi,
I am buying an 07 XKR Supercharged convertible. Changing from a 911 996 cabrio and before that a range of TVRs.
Any advice to someone new to Jaguars welcome. Any upgrade advice welcomed. Ehausts? Ipod connection?
regards

We do a wicked exhaust for the XK. Sounds amazing. We also do supply and fit the Arden range of body kits and accessories. So there is some choice of upgrades available. Kevin is hot with the electronics as well so I am sure he can sort an Ipod connection.I am buying an 07 XKR Supercharged convertible. Changing from a 911 996 cabrio and before that a range of TVRs.

I bought a 57 plate XKR convertible earlier this year and also had a 996 C4 Cab before.
Totally different drive and absolutely no regrets, try and get the premium sound but other than that they're very well spec'd.
I looked at SL 55's and 997's but the value for money and the looks swung it for the Jaguar.
5 litre next year!

Last autumn when I was changing from my trusty S Type R, which I had had for four years and enjoyed thoroughly, I was convinced that I was going to get a 996 C2S.I was also looking at XKR's because you get a newer car for the money and the convertible is nicer looking. However after trying a few of both I finally went for an '07 XKR Convertible because it was the perfect spec. the right price, I was offered the right price for mine and it was only 30 miles from home. I have not regretted it. It's been fantastic. I do a lot of travelling up the west coast and highlands of Scotland and to my mind I could not be in a better car. I think you'll enjoy it too.
Coming from a 911 (but a 993) the only thing I would improve about my 07 XKR is front end turn in. It doesn't turn as instantly as my old car and you have to let it settle into a mild roll before it feels like you're really cornering.
It's probably more about my driving technique than the car, and fixing it may flaw the rest of it's great character.
Oh, and I'd like about 8 more mpg please

I have done active exhausts, brake upgrades, and supercharger upgrades for the X150 XKR, here's one I did ealier on a 2007 XKR

Wow that car looks amazing.
Well I love my car, great drive back 400 miles up the road. Need more of a pilots licence than a driving licence.
Would like some side skirts on sills and the new cars rear diffuser between the tail pipes. maybe a better charger pulley, exhaust and some smart seats but a great car. Was a sensible alternative to the V8 Vantage Roadster.
I really am enjoying the car, not much MPG but plenty of smiles per gallon.

I bought a 2008 XKR last 6 weeks ago and am very impressed indeed.
Although the car is quick i wouldn't mind making it abit quicker. Would changing the supercharger pulley, and re-mapping the car make it feel that much quicker or would it not be worth it?
The car above looks stunning. May i ask how much the bodykit work done on the car cost? I would be interested in possibly getting it done to my own. Also do the LED lights work ok on the new style front nose cone.

I would suggest get the pulley done, then go to Viezu and have a remap, you will notice a good difference.
All the kit was OE the sills are about £200 a piece, the rear diffuser about £400, rear spoiler escapes me but you can just go to Jaguar and ask, the nose cone was a bargain I found that on Ebay with all the grilles for £300 delivered, you then need the RS front splitter, all in all I think with fitting and painting was around £2500.
The exhaust was £1500 CAT back, I also fitted a switch to turn the baffles off, I did a few other things like make up a really sweet induction system, but unfortunately it was too good and had to be removed as it put too much air through and upset the MAFs too much and kept idling badly and bringing up faults.
Shame really as it did look good.

I changed from a 2007 M6 to my current 2007 XKR convertible.
Its like a breath of fresh air after the M6! No silly SMG box but a sensible auto box with paddle shifts again!
I have simply removed the active exhaust fuse and the car now sounds awesome. loads of people comment how nice it sounds and the throttle blip on changedowns when in sport mode sound sublime!
Back in 2004 I had a Elite cat back system fitted on my 2003 XKR coupe 4,2 and that sounded good, but I swear the 07 sounds better simply by removing the fuse!
Only thing I would like to do is have the new style LED's on the front end - any idea of a price for this?
Also what would a pulley change and remap achieve?

I think with a re-map and pulley change you can expect roughly around 50 to 60 bhp more. Paramount offered to do me a cut price deal, both for a grand which isn't too bad but i'm in 2 minds because i'm thinking about putting a jaguar warranty on the car and am worried these things could be noticed if the car was to be inspected before a claim.
By changing the pulley and re-mapping the car on paper should give you a XKR producing 470-480bhp but from what i have heard from the chap at paramount alot of XKR's are showing stock performance of around 390-400bhp on the dyno. Don't know how true this is but i would be alittle angry if my 2008 xkr was producing less than stock figures.
What fuse is this you mentioned? is the noise of the exhaust that much louder? Also where is this fuse located, might give it a try. I have only had the car 6 weeks and not really played around with it too much so this sort of thing interests me.
Cheers.

Told you so!!
Now leave it a couple of days and it gets to sound even better!
I went to Munich in mine 2 weeks ago and popped the fuse back in before I left just to quieten it down on the Autobahn. When I got back I whipped it out again and its now my snarling beast again!
The active exhaust is the same system as on the Vantage V8 and a mate of mine who owns a vantage told me about this cheap exhaust upgrade!
