Is my X308 XJR slow?
Discussion
Although my 2001 XJR (80k) is a lot quicker than all my other old cars, I was expecting a lot more from the 370 bhp. Once motoring over 60 it pulls great, its just getting there. It seems sluggish even in sport mode, is this normal?
I would like to take it to an expert, i'm reluctant to go to a main dealer, a specialist would be great. Can anyone recommend someone who won't rip me off. I'm in the south of the country i don't mind travelling.
cheers

Its all relative but mine still scares me in second flat out sometimes (probably shouldnt do it in a country lane)
Anyway, I would recommend checking the MAF i think i cleaned mine with carb cleaner.
You can buy a U308 OBD code reader for £20 that will show you any MAF fault readings (ebay).
Then I would always recommend getting a pulley upgrade (from £150-300) which makes a big difference by spinning the supercharger earlier down the rev range, feels alot more pokey from standstill.
Have fun

I drove a few when I was looking, some of them where definitely down on power. As you say, they just didn't pull at low revs, as if the ignition timing or cam timing was out. Mine would flash the TC light on dry tarmac until it changed into 3rd (or whatever gear it goes to a bit above 60mph).
