Hi ,
I am having an issue with my sound system and it is driving me insane.

What I have - 2x CD - Changers Alpine S630
2x 9500R radios with Code.

What the issue is - When I press the CD button on the radio - Nothing happens

What I did -
1)Replaced the CD changer, no luck. There is power to the changer and it loads the disks etc.
2) Replaced the Radio - No Luck !
3) Tested each radio with each cd changer - still nothing.
4) Opened one of the radios to inspect the circuit board as per http://www.mraven.com/Jaguar%20X300%20R ... Radio.html - nothing obvious.

What i think the problem could be -
1 )The cable going to the CD changer is ripped somewhere between the radio and the changer ( it is 8 wires if I am not mistaken, so some of the wires are working as there is power to the changer ). Any way of checking the cable without ripping it out and replacing it ?
2) I have 2x doggy radios
3) The radio is incompatible with the changer

Anyone is SE London or close with a known working radio willing to whip it out and do a test for me ?

Any help will be appreciated

Regards
Nick

Would it be possible to run in a known "good" cable temporarily, by disconnecting the present one at both ends and just run the replacement in without routing it under the carpets etc. etc. Failing that, disconnect the present one at both ends and use a circuit tester for continuity on each of the wires in turn. You may have to organise an "extension cable", just a single wire with maybe a small alligator clip on on ened to give you enough reach to connect each end of the wire being checked. Hope this is clear. Any dodgy wires will soon show up if you have your tester set for continuity and dont get a "buzz/ light" or however it gives a read out. Hope this is clear, but once identified, then splice in any new wires needed or just replace the entire cable preferably.

yeah that is what I was thinking, trying to find a 8 pin din cable on ebay, but not that many about.
I don't have a circuit tester I'm afraid, and even if I did the holes on the 8 pin din are pretty small.
