What is the most you have spent on your Jag?
Discussion
It's not so much the parts price but the labour rates (10 hours on a transfer box on an X type) and VAT at 20%
Jag specialists in the main are reasonably priced on labour, but main Jag dealers hourly rates, I expect a decent Champagne rather than a coffee whilst I wait to have my wallet mugged!

I have just spent £1200 inc VAT on new brake pads, discs all round and new fuel pipes.
It is so far my biggest single bill during my ownership of the car.
On the X308 in your profile? It is so far my biggest single bill during my ownership of the car.
I've just fitted new discs and pads all round to my X308 XJR. Came in at £200, and only took a few hours to fit.
How much of that was the fuel lines?
X350 XJR, actually nothing of note at all!
I tidied up a few things like rear parking sensors and replaced the electronic parking brake to make the car perfect but other than that, it's been VERY good.
It's now in such a good condition that I hate to sell it but unfortunately I am US bound!

How about re-phrasing the question?
let's call it now.....
What is the most you have had to spend on your Jag - ie repairs, maintenance, breakages
and...
What is the most you have chosen to spend on your Jag - ie upgrades, enhancements etc
I've only had my XK for about 5 months or so, so have not spent anything - now my TVRs! Hah, that's different - to part A, my max servicing cost was a smidge under £1k for the Tuscan IIS inc valve clearance check. As for part B - er, I'd rather not say especially as SWMBO occasionally glances at these pages but for all three TVRs that I've had, probably, in total, pretty close to what I paid my first TVR, so £5 figures (excl the pence)

Was that at main dealer though and with Jaguar parts? Mine was. I've just fitted new discs and pads all round to my X308 XJR. Came in at £200, and only took a few hours to fit.

The labour costs shot up due to them having to lower the gear box to fit the fuel pipes properly.
I'm not complaining by the way at the costs as I budget for this sort of thing and worse. The cars a keeper for the time being so this work will last my ownership out.

No, it was me doing it. Jaguar discs and rear pads, upgraded front pads. The labour costs shot up due to them having to lower the gear box to fit the fuel pipes properly.

May I ask why you go to a main dealer for that sort of work? Anyone can change brakes, and at worst a Jag specialist would do the fuel lines.
Keeper or not, just seems odd to me to throw money at a main dealer on a car of this value, that's all.
Last pit stop
1) Adjust front hubs
2) Replace rear radius arm bushes
3) Replace front Vee mounts
4) Replace Steering rack bushes
5) Replaced air filters
6) Replace Coolant temp sensor
7) New Mintex 1155 brake pads on the front ( 90% worn since last track day)
Cool Replace brake hoses with stainless steel ones (expanding a bit since last track day)
9) Flush brake fluid and put 2L Castrol SRF ( a bit baked last track day)
10) ABS sensor replacement as I had managed to melt it
11) Rear arm bushes replaced.
12) 2x new radiator caps
13) Front Anti roll bar centre mounts were badly corroded and had to be replaced.
14) Tracking all around
15) Thermostat
When they tried to undo the vee mount bolt, a bit of the chassis leg snapped off due to corrosion, so the front subframe had to come off, then yet more hidden rust was discovered.
The inner wing had to be cut open and plates had to be welded in place.
all in all 8 hours welding.
Plus some minor bits and bobs and we arrived at £1492 + VAT plus brake pads ( 90 quid @ camskill) and brake fluid ( 2 bottles for 50 quid of ebay )
Oh Yeah and some welding done too.

I refer to my earlier post to cover both options. I had to get the work done else it wasn't going anywhere - but I did to chose to spend the value of the car again, or scrap it.let's call it now.....

I chose the former and then had a looooong battle with the warranty company to pay a contribution (evil little snakes).

Would a specialist do it that much cheaper? May I ask why you go to a main dealer for that sort of work? Anyone can change brakes, and at worst a Jag specialist would do the fuel lines.

I could change the pads/discs myself if I felt up to it.
I'm not sure there are any specialists in my area. Certainly none in the surrounding towns. I'm also someone who would rather travel a shorter distance and spend a little more than have to travel a longer distance to save money - I can't take it with me.
