Broken a coolant connector on my 3.0 V6, NEED HELP PLEASE :)

OK car info:-
2000.5 S-Type 3.0 V6
135,000 miles

I've serviced the car today, fresh oil, new oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, inlet gaskets, cleaned all the throttle housing, inlet manifolds etc.
Yes the spark plugs were quite a pain having to remove the inlet manifold and during this a corroded hose end bit the dust and broke off, though I think it was already dripping coolant due to stains on pipe below, no doubt due to the corrosion.
Anyway here is a picture of the broken part:-

I've run the car and had a good look at this area, obviously rest of intake re-fitted when running and it is leaking by approx a drip every 30 seconds or so.
Some questions:-
1. Can I run the car with this as it does not seem a main coolant flow line as its extremely narrow and the leak is very slow?
2. Is there a new/replacement part I can buy, if so any ideas on part code please?
3. What is the name of this hose and what is that part actually doing, is it a coolant breather or something?
Apart from that the car driving superb now its on new plugs and fresh oil, certainly freed up some ponies without a doubt.
Tomorrow for the valet, polish and waxing and shall try to remember to get some photos done.
