Have a XK Convertible, one year old, since new. Since I have had it I have experienced a very annoying 'outside' noise like there is a window slightly open, not road noise either, you hear everything, even people having a chat at bus stops!! From the drivers seat it seems to come from the passenger side but for passengers it seems to come from my side. The dealer has had it four times now, the last for nearly a week but, still no change. Anybody had the same problem?

Other than that a lovely car.

Hi Vince,

I have a 2006 XK convertible. I also have the same problem, to me it sounds like its coming from the rear. If i'm parked up, I can hear people talking, and there is quite a bit of road noise on motorways coming from the back too.

James.

James,

Did you try getting it sorted out? What was you told?

Hi Vince,

I've not tried to have mine sorted yet, spoken to as few people who say it could be the way the roof is made. I may take it to my local Jaguar dealer though.

I have an 07 XK softie and also get noise from nearside rear quarter. When I first got the car I noticed there was a small gap between the hood and the toneau cover. Put the car into dealers (it was just under 3 years old when I got it so was still under warranty) and they said it needed a new seal whic was subsequently fitted after the warranty had expired and the gap was gone.

However the noise issue is still there! I have stopped the hood as it is retracting to see if there is anything obvious that can be adjusted but no luck. Next thing is to put a few layers of masking tape on the toneau and close the roof to see if that improves the seal.
