Hi chaps, im looking for some advice on a car im looking at buying..Its a 2000 3.0 S Type
The car is a friends fathers old S Type, sadly he passed away in november and the car has been offered to me...Its done 89,000 miles and he owned the car for the past 10 yrs..Its been offered to me for £1200...I said id have the car if he puts 12 months MOT on it. This has been agreed, however the car failed its MOT on a rusting subframe (thats all) he said he would have the subframe replaced as they are bolted on (is this correct?) Is a rusting subframe a common fault? and will it be ok if a new one is correctly fitted?
Thanks chaps. Gav

The subframe is bolted on and swapping it is no big deal. It's very important to get a 4 wheel alignment afterwards but once that is done all should be well.
