XFR and XF 3.0D S depreciation
Discussion
A question to the Jag and the used car experts on here.
If I got either of the two cars above, both about 60,000 miles and 2009, what is the depreciation likely to be?
I can only compare them with M5's and 535d's which appear to hold their money well once the first two/three year sting has been taken out, but then I also have to bear in mind the traditional complete freefall of prices of big Jags.
But the XF does seem immensely popular which I assume will hold prices up.
What do others think?

I bought a 3.0XFS from new and sold it after 18 months with only 12k miles on the clock and I lost 18k in depreciation... So a grand a month from new...
Obviously rate of depreciation slows down on a used car... but in my experience Jags depreciate the same if not more quickly than other prestige brands.

Was it good?
Just bought 2 ex demo Jags, an XKR-S, 6 months old and 3k miles for 75k (list with extra's 98.5K) and an XFR 2012 model year for £45k (list 68K). I sold our XF SV8 (April 2008 car, the 4.2 S/Charged) for 18K and our 09/09 XKR for £35K.
I have penciled in the XFR to be worth about £25k when it gets to 3 years old and the XKR-S to be just under £40k at the same point. After the 3 year point I would expect them to drop by 15% in year 1 and then 10% p/a thereafter so the first 3 years are definitely the worst.
There are quite a few demo's of both XKR and XKR-S and XFR's coming onto the market in the next few weeks. I was also offer an XJ Supersport with quite a few extra's (list 98.5K) at 12 months old with 12 k miles for £50K, nearly bit but I knew the "enemy" would notice that whereas she thinks I have just added a few mods to the old XKR!

Is it worth stretching myself for or play it safe and easy with a 3.0d S?
Always worth stretching for a V8;
