Hi Guys

I will shortly be getting the tensioners done on my X308 XJR.

However, they were already replaced under warranty in July 2000, and I was wondering if any knowledgable bods here could confirm from the part numbers below taken from the invoice if the latest generation stuff was used.

NCA-2017AF
NCA-2017BE
NCA-2126AC
NCA-2127AC
NCA-2515AE
NCA-2516AE
NCA-2578BB
NCA-2114BA
JFC-106086
NCA-1995AF
JLM-20404/3

I suspect not, but worth checking.

Many thanks!

No

I haven't the latest part umber at hand but at that date they would still be early ones

They are now making metal tensioners not the plastic, they are much better

2000 change should mean the 2nd gen cream plastic type will have been fitted. If the metal bodied ones are used - I don't have the part numbers to hand - there will also be 4 replacement bolts on the invoice as the body dimensions are slightly different.

The JDHT website has most/all part numbers for many older Jaguar and the X308 is now listed by them. It is a very useful site.

http://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/html/JCPFrames.h...

It lists part number NCA2017BE as "From VIN 856756 To Engine 0108122359". The most recent tensioner equivalent listed is part number AJ83982 - "From Engine 0108130000".

That's very helpful, many thanks Guys.

I'll put the car in for new tensioners (and gaskets and seals etc),, a transmission fluid change and an upgraded lower supercharger / crank pulley.

Thanks for your help!
