Is it worth the extra money for the XKR? I am looking for a family fun 4 seater convertible <£10k. Maybe you have other car suggestions..

You really need to check the size of the other 2 passengers.

Unless they are under 6-8 years old, no XK is really that suited. The convertible has a marginally bigger rear seat area but both cars are more 2 seaters with a rather expensive leather, cladded luggage area smile

Audi S4?

Much as I would love to say otherwise, the previous poster has hit the nail on the head regarding rear seat space. I am about 6' and cannot take any passenger (no matter how small) behind me unless I adopt a less than comfortable driving position. My son fits OK behind my wife but he is only 18months.

As for the "r" over the 8, it depends what you value more the ability to cruise around in a fairly brisk car with the roof down or the extra performance of the R. For me as I use the car every day and it lives on the drive I went for the R. If you want the luxury and the performance then have a look at the XJ or S type. not a coupe but you get more car for your money.

Thanks for the input. I have already tested my 4 year old and he fits fine even on a booster seat behind my wife, she is quite short so can have the seat quite far forwards. More importantly she also had a smile on her face nearly as big as mine...

In that case, go for it smile A truly amazing car. And the wife liking it is a major bonus!
