I'm toying with the idea of getting an XKR (original) as their values are very tempting £5-10k

Are they available on a classic car insurance policy?

What sort of running costs should I expect £1 or £2k per year on servicing & upkeep, or more?

I know of a couple of owners that have them on Classic Insurance

If you are using the car for relatively low mileage to get Classic Insurance running costs should be quite low

Maybe budget for a high first service if the car hasn't been looked after as much as the seller says

You need to find the very best example you can. Mostly pretty reilable if it's been looked after and treated with care. Budget for a gearbox oil change and secondary timing chain tensioner change to the latest spec metal bodied type

I sold mine recently, the garage still has it for sale.

tensioners, chains, pump all done, pretty much perfect for its september1999 year & 64k, in silver with cream.

Anyway, PM me if you want to know where it is ?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but am also thinking about one of these beauties. What made you change it? Thinking of it as a 2+2 is it really only kids that fit in the back??

And then only if you don't like them very much.

Mainly sold it as baby number2 is due and 2 kids in the back just wont work. Also I was bored, nothing left to modify and not as chuckable as i wanted.
