Finally Bought a Series XJ6!
Discussion
Well instead of taking pics I took it out for a 30 mile drive, having drove 80 miles yesterday evening to pick it up
It has been faultless, oil pressure is fantastic and the car does not over heat at all
Enough of the boring stuff. It is just sublime to drive, so, so civilised with it's electric windows and temperature controlled heating! To me the car feels VERY modern but I'm used to a 1967 Mk.1 Triumph GT6 as my daily ...
Which is anything but civilised.
Car should hopefully become my daily, leaving the GT6 to become more of a toy, still a used toy however
. The Jaguar and the Triumph are basically exactly the same exterior colour too

Nice one
Best of luck, mate. I'm off today (Saturday) to pick up an XJ8 3.2 from Bristol. 98kon the clock. Boyhood dream come true for me, since me uncle had a Daimler Sovreign. They smell like nothing else, eh? Read some of the forums about drive chains, sounds like it might be costly.....but fingers crossed?

The newest XJ I've driven has been an XJ40, so don't know much about the newer ones. Mines a 1974 and currently smells of leather feed and not a lot else ... trying to get the light interior to come up a bit.
I nearly bought a Daimler S2 in dark blue, that colour really looks spectacular against chrome. I'm a bit jealous!!
As for mine? The black ex Practical Classics S3 is still merrily plodding on, though getting ready for a new engine. This one's starting to get a little tired, and its showing with poor oil pressure and oil consumption. The S1 is slowly getting the XJR6 engine fitted in properly. There were some parts I didn't like, so I'm doing them again.
I've had a photo of a S1 and S2 together, but that was when my brother had one. If you get chance, pop round you know where I am.
Btw... are you going to Ashover classic car show tomorrow?
