I so want this car to succeed. Is it however just me or does the 'disguised' model look to anyone else like a reheated Honda S2000 with an XF grille?

Hope I'm wrong.

Looks nothing like it. It will be epic, just be patient, the Jag design team haven't put a foot wrong with any of the current generation.

I too have my fingers crossed that the production F-Type moves on from the current styling of the current XK/ AM Vantage / Callum creations.

In my book the F-Type has to look 'different' from other roadsters, just as the all new Porsche Boxster is in a class of its own & looks truly stunning.

Bring it on...

It is not the current XK, the V8 Vantage or the DB9 I am worried about. All of these cars as it happens I think are extremely handsome. It is the shape of that dazzle camouflaged buck which is currently featuring in all the pre launch publicity. The best thing you can say about it is that it ain't like any previous Jaguar. I hope they are not deluding themselves, it just isn't that special., and a Jag has to be special.

The Keith Helfet F-Type looked fantastic, though it was hard to see how they were going to get a roof on it. The Lawson/Helfet XK8 of 1996 has more presence. This looks, as I said, a bit like an S2000 but boxier, and that is being complimentary. A 1950's AC Ace is just as competent, and that number plate bar is chronic. If it was a Toyota, yes, but a Jag?

Seen it in all its glory. It looks fantastic, like the love child of an XK, a Ferrari California and an E-Type. The back end and exhausts are very E-Type in styling and the front end more California than anything, it's a sweet looking car, another win for Jag.

I'll wait till I see one in the metal, I don't think any of the recent Jags have looked their best in photos, the ali XK, the XF and the new XJ all look far far better when you get to see them from real, rather than just looking at pictures.

Saw two in full disguise on Tuesday in Daventry. Couldn't tell how good it will look. One car had two large centre exhausts, the other two (smaller) outboard pairs. Don't know if this indicated different engines/versions.

Bit of a write up including renderings (which look lovely) of the F-Type in this months EVO magazine. They were talking about an F-type R and even the possibility of an F-Type RS.

Had a sneek at the coupé mockup today. Just stunning. I'm really torn between the open-top and coupé. Well if I could afford to be torn anyhoo.

Hope you are right. I saw the cover of EVO, showcasing what looked like a photoshop of the preproduction model in green. What did worry me was it featured almost all of the 'Halford' features from the XKR-S.

It looks more like the run-out model. What new car needs decked out in slots and spoilers from Day 1? Please tell me this is a huge spoof and the real thing comes out at Geneva!!!

For a morale booster I am looking back over the CX16 launch videos on Youtube, and no doubt, that does look good. Maybe its the camouflage, maybe its just nerves...

I'm sure thats just a rendering but lets face it, they will have to make the RS more 'spoilered' than the cooking model. I like either TBH as the basic shape is just so right (in coupe form....whilst the convertible will still be nice, it's the coupe that really looks the business!).

The F-type on the front is a rendering of the F-type RS. If it ever appears it will be years away.

A couple of cars were shown in a leaked shot in the Sun on Friday (I read the classiest stuff) and I have to say they looked fantastic. Maybe I have been worried about nothing. beer

The camouflaged ones (another Jaguar eshot on Friday) seem to succeed in hiding the style and proportions of the car.
