XF, XJ All Wheel Drive
Discussion
I had the opportunity to drive the 2013 XF AWD V6 S/C, XF 2.0 T and XJ AWD V6 S/C today.
The AWD system is going to be huge for Jaguar in the USA where the luxury sedan market is dominated by AWD vehicles. We have found the lack of AWD to be the biggest objection against the XJ in particular and to a lesser extent the XF. The Jaguar AWD system is RWD biased so the driving characteristics of the cars will remain but we will have the benefit of added traction for the Northern winters.
The 3.0 V6 is new to us and I was pleasantly surprised. The car sounds good, responded well and did not feel noticeably slower than the V8 which we are used to and which I drive daily. I think it will have the effect of doubling sales in our market in both the XJ and XF and customer reaction was good. can't wait for some bad weather to really see what it will do!
The 2.0 in the XF was a revelation. We are used to the engine being in the Evoque but some were a little sceptical about whether it would do the business in the Jag. In fact it felt great, didn't feel underpowered at all and will be a great addition to the line up as it will allow us to offer an XF at under $50k for the first time. All in all, well done to the team at Jaguar, F Type next!

It took them to long to get the awd out, they had it on the xj41 prototypes.
any way, glad that jaguar are finely paying attention to the samll thing taht matters to the buyer.
I remmeber when they first had the winter mode, jaguar said they didn't need awd. I went to a track test at gaydon, the had some type of very slippery liquid where we get to test them.
How does the 2.0l feel compared to the old 240hp v6?
