X300 (X330) front bumper chrome
Discussion
After 12 months away from the marque i have just picked up an N-Registered Daimler Six LWB in Ice Blue
(Will take some pictures when i get the chance to give her a really good clean).
The car has a few little cosmeic issues most of which i plan to rectify.
One of those issues is the centre chrome section of the front bumper.
Its not bent or warped but i can see that in one area it has come away from the clip? which i can see under the section that has lifted.
I have come accross several guides and topics relating to the rear bumper, but none with any information regards the front.
Do i need to remove the bumper to re clip the chrome blade?
Anyone on here know my car? She is registered N31 BOO.
Thanks in advance......
Richard

Beautiful car!
The chrome lifting like that is caused by a light knock at the front - the bumper bounces back into shape and looks fine but the stainless steel strip "pops up". You can remove it and try and get it flat again, but it's practically impossible to do. You need to take the bumper off to remove the trim piece.
I ended up buying a new one from Jaguar, along with a full set of clips for it. I don't recall how much it was, but I'd guess at over £100. It's worth doing because it makes the car look shabby with it popped up.

I paid £2000 for this car and it was part of a private collection of 12 Daimlers.
The car has covered 111000miles but with a full Jaguar Main dealer service history and i bought the car with a fresh MOT that had no advisories.
The crucial thing (along with the service history) is that the car has no rust to sills/inner sills or any of the arches etc.
I have since done the following:
Fitted Fully Tailored LWB overmats.
Rectified a small area of leather discoloration on the driver’s seat bolster and gear selector
Sourced a couple of the original booklets that were missing or dirty in the owners wallet.
Had several 'car park' dents removed by a smart repairer.
And in the next two weeks the following will have been done:
Front and rear bumpers re-painted to rectify a couple of scuffs.
Exterior paint and chrome polished, waxed and sealed.
Oil/Transmission fluid, spark plugs and all filters replaced.
Having done all the above, i would like to think that if i decided to sell, the car would be worth £2750-£3000
