Higher milage 07-08 XKR possible issues

Hi,

Are there any additional issues to getting a higher (80K+ milage) XKR?
I ask becouse there can be quite a difference in price.

Average price for 2007 50K miles is about £25K
Higher milage versions are advertised at about £20K

Wont be doing many miles a year but what extra costs might I be letting myself in for though?

They are pretty much bullet proof mechanically, but expect the usual wear and tear costs, suspension bushes, discs/pads, alternator type things. Do some prevention work and get the fluids changed. Servicing these days is cut to the bear minimum so I would give it a once over.

If you buy from main dealer, the car will come fully serviced with 12 months warranty/tax?

I'll take a look at some normal milage versions and some high milage versions.
If a higher milage one looks in good shape then I may make an offer.

I always assume I'm buying someone elses problem when buying used anyway so always get it checked over etc.

A lot depends on how the mileage has clocked up

If say 250 mile trips at 70-80 mph on motorways the engine is ticking over at 2,000 revs

a lot of 20-50 mile trips across country up and down the gears with the engine up to 6,000 revs is another thing

Looking in more detail at the higher milage examples, they look to be cars used by 'area reps', 'company owners' or something similar as they are high specced and look to be well maintained (IE maintained by a company) so are likely to be moterway miles.
I can get a better idea of that from service records etc when I look at any in detail.
