Is there something else other then the fuses that stop electric seats from working? Appreciate any advice
Thanks

Swap the switches over - IIRC they won't physicaly fit but the connections and wiring are the same. Failing that you'll have to work your way through the wiring and possibily swap the seats from side to side to isolate the fault.

I can't remember if the X300 has airbags within the seat - I don't think so - but if it has you must disconnect the battery and wait at least 10 mins before disturbing any electricial connections.

A few years back the driver's seat mechanism stopped in my S-Type. Turned out that a 5p coin had dropped into the screw mechanism and jammed it! Once removed, all OK again.

Does the car have memory seats? I know the memory modules go bad often but one I saw one fail on a Vanden Plas (Daimler) and cause this.

Do they still work, just not by memory, or not at all

This is a long shot, but maybe worth checking. I have a 94 XJS coupe and the driver electric seat stopped going back and forth. The rest all worked OK. I took the seat out and on inspection found that one of the pins in one of the connectors had backed out of its connector shell and wasn't making the connection. I re-inserted the pin and all was good again. So, maybe worth checking all the connections are secure. If you can take a seat out, try and get a power source to each motor to check they work and go through by a system of elimination in the wiring to try and find the point of failure?
