Going to look at a 2011 XFR next week, but there seem to be so many differently specced ones I've got a bit lost.

I was initially looking at an XFR100 which seemed to tick all the boxes, though it's the older shape.

Ideally I want the facelifted model. Just personal preference but I think it looks nicer and, as I intend to keep it a while, it may not date as quickly (even with the S model just being released).

What are the "must have" options on these and, if missing a few, is retro fitting certain things an option?

Not over bothered about cosmetics, though I do like toys. smile

With the XFR100 the main extra bits were the black pack, dark Draco alloys and the Bowers & Wilkins stereo which otherwise was optional on a normal 11MY XFR.

The updated Bowers & Wilkins became standard on the facelifted 12MY so the only other "essential" option on either model years would be the park aid pack (front sensors and reverse camera).

Nice extras woul be the adaptive headlamps, intelligent high beam, blind spot monitor and the carbon fibre interior trim. But really none are essential so just go on colour combo and the usual age / mileage v price and you can't really go wrong!

No way to retro fit factory options.

If you can plump for a 12MY car then do so, the updated car featured a much smarter design plus a more visible difference to the rest of the range.

Front park was standard on the 12MY models as was Bowers & Wilkins as Ashley stated.

Personally, I would aim for something with Rear Camera, and possible a Black Pack.....looks mean, really mean!

The final edition is usually a run out model and has everything on it.

They are very tempting a look on the Jag approved used website shows how the price has dipped a lot. Does'nt really get a lot better performance and practicality.

Would imagine you can get a good price with a bit of hard negotiation.

Thanks for all the advice gentlemen,

I'm going to have a look at one this week. December 2011 in rhodium silver with a warm charcoal and contrasting ivory stitched interior apparently.

Only got just over 6,000 miles on it, so it sounds good so far. The asking price has not yet been discussed, though I'm sure that there will be room for some negotiation, even with mine as a P/X.

Will still be looking around for others, though they do seem few and far between up in the wild North West.

Just a bit of closure here really.

Looked at a few over the last week or two but nothing really stood out. Until I found one not too far away from me.

Not much information on the website so, as it wasn't too far, I went to have a mooch around it. (After a quick phone call to confirm that they actually had possession of it, as apparently Jaguar have been letting a few dealers down with delivery promises.)

I arrived at the showroom and it was right by the door as I walked in. Ashamed to say that I fell instantly in love and decided I had to have it. Immediately.

Unfortunately, I can't get the money together for another couple of weeks, so I'm now picking it up on Friday the 28th. Waiting is never good, but at least the holidays will take my mind off it. (Not really but I'm trying to convince myself.)

It's a 2011 (12MY) Polaris White/Black Charcoal interior and loads of extras including sunroof, rear blind, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise, digital TV & radio, reversing camera and loads of other bits (which I can't remember as it's late and I'm tired). Oh, and 6,000 miles from new which I'm pleased about as the original one I was looking at was the same mileage.

I tried to take a couple of photos, but the memory card on the phone decided it wasn't playing that day, so I'll have to wait a bit for those unfortunately.

Hopefully it will last me at least a couple of years before the novelty wears off.

Photos when I get it and clay/wax it all up how I want it.

What have Jaguar delivery promises got to do with used cars?

Apparently they were all in stock at Jaguar's main place wherever that may be.

Most of the dealers (Preston, Warrington & Doncaster) that I spoke with had bought used cars for stock from Jaguar. The sales manager at Warrington (nice guy by the way) reckoned he had 70 cars due, but they were at least a week late due to delivery problems from Jaguar.

According to the email I got, they were prepared by Jaguar themselves and came on a transporter ready for sale.

This is only what I was told when trying to view, though with three separate dealers telling me the same thing I have no reason to disbelieve them.

Most nearly new used cars come from Jaguar, Jaguar employees drive them for a few months then they are sent to Auction where Jaguar dealers buy them for their stock. Check out all the cars beginning with OV or OE registrations first owner Jaguar. All the brands do it to supply dealers with nearly new stock. Forecourts filled with used 60,61 and 62 plates aren't private trade ins!
