Word of warning locking wheel nut keys
Discussion
just a heads up, i dont know if this is a common occurance.
on sunday i was changing the wheels on my XJR, i had changed 2 wheels on one side no problem, i started changing the 3rd wheel, and one of the wheelnuts seemed to be grating, however it wsnt the wheel nut, it was the wheel nut key, no 72, disintegrating. i had sold the Asteroids i was taking off, and now i had 2 on and 2 off with collection of wheels imminent.
what to do, halfords was closed, no number 72s on ebay, when i remembered i had an old socket which had cone like rods inside, i bought it 15 years ago!! and had never used it, but i knew where it was. well blow me down it worked, and it worked well, got me out of a right pickle.
so just a suggestion, keep an eye on the condition of your locking wheel nut keys!

Yes to all Jaguar ownerslester
Take off the locking wheel nuts and replace with standard, not worth the problems etc
Infact in France the other year in the hotel car park was a Jaguar, the garage had cut around the nut to to get the wheel off as they had a puncture
Bu**ered wheel and all
