Just a quick intro from an oldie in Orkney - lifelong tinkerer with Minis, motorcycles and Jaguars - but only for the last 25 years. I have a 1985 XJ-SC Cabriolet which I built from a new shell back in 1990 and recently acquired a 1999 XJ8 which I am enjoying and just putting right some of the little niggles on a 14 year old car. Only silly things like replacing blown air con panel bulbs and making the petrol flap motor functional. It's as quiet as a mouse at present but I will soon get round to checking the timing chain tensioners and thermostat housing and water pump. Still got the fuel injected Mini Clubman estate and too many motorcycles - I probably ought to sell the XJS to make a bit more room! Lots of this stuff is on my hobby web site at:
www.stallard-engineering.co.uk

Best regards
Ian

Hi there Ian,
I'm from Orkney too, have a nice 2008 Pearl Grey XK-R that you won't see about much as it is hiding under cover for the winter. Had a 2004 XKR previously and an S Type before that. My better half has an X Type estate that is an excellent daily driver up here.

All the best,

Jeff.

Hi Jeff,
Great to hear that there is another one infected with the Jag Bug up here in the not-so-frozen-North. We might cross paths sometime? I'll look forward to seeing the XKR out and about when the weather is right, perhaps at the Vintage rally?

Vintage Rally is provisionally set for August 11th 2013 - there might be some change to the layout though, if proposed field size/use changes take place.
