It seems a good deal but I might not be totally unbiased:

If anyone has any wisdom to impart to me on the subject I'd appreciate it.

Surely they cannot go much lower in price ! Must be worth that in parts as it has the popular Detroit rims which in mint condition with tyres still sell for £1500 +
If serviced and maintained it should be fine, lots of general issues will rear their head with mileage/age. Check for the common ones, tensioners , gearbox oil, footwell rust, rust in the boot vents, sills, suspension wear.
If its a good one you can't go wrong

Surely XK's can't get any cheaper?? Are we at the stage with the XK where the E-type was in the early 80's, when I wished I'd bought those flat floor S1's for £4k!!! Their does seem to be alot of choice, if only the wife, bank manager were more obliging!! If I had £5k I'd buy a steel lined XKR, irrispective of the miles.

I have just picked up a 2002 XKR. Buy on condition and history.

I looked at several from 6k to 11k and found the cheaper ones to be scruffy.

At that price I would want a thick file of bills for a little piece of mind

Had mine a week and love it.

Did the deal today- a new MOT to be done & I pick it up next week.

Cue lots of cleaning, fluid changes & tinkering.
