I am waiting to take delivery of my 3rd Jag. It is a 2006 XK convertible with low miles.

The previous Jags have been a 5.3 XJS that I had about 20 years ago and a 4.0 XJ sport which I used as a company car after getting out of the company car scheme. One of the best cars I have owned and very reliable for 40k mile over 3 years.

So I have just traded in a CLK320 Convertible for an XK . I can get a set of golf clubs in the boot OK as I tried it in the showroom. Insurance very reasonable and I hope to enjoy owning it as much as my other car, the TVR which is staying.

I havent read a bad word from anybody re the XK. They cant all be wrong

The new XK is the new shape 2006 4.2. model

It does have the J gear selector. When was this changed. I have read that all of the new shape XK do not have the J selector

Also are all of the new shape XKs ali

Thanks

New ones (model from 2006, ie yours)are aluminium. J-gate for all 4.2s, 'rising control' came in with the 5.0 litre, 2009 IIRC.

Best thing I ever bought for my 2007 XK was a wind deflector. The heater is a blast furnace so with a wind deflector the roofs down more often than not.

Best colour too. Well done!

The XK is a brilliant GT and I can't think of anything better in its price range.

Thanks guys

3 weeks in and it is a pleasure to drive. Just learning how to operate all of the 'Toys'

It seems quite good on MPG as well although I havent given it any beans yet. It seems more of a touring GT than a sports car so I will just need to keep my other car. Shamesmile
