Looks good painted.

I would have left it unpainted but it's nice to see one that's different.

White is a powder coat, black matt is hand painted, small brush. I'll do another one with totally different style .

How much is an old block? And how much prep work did it need before painting?

Interesting, but I think metal colour would be my way.

I bought it for 150 quids, stripped it within a two dozens of hours, struggled with cylinder heads and seized pistons. Then sand blasting and powder coating. If you want metal, you'll need put clear lacquer on it, instead of powder coat. You have a max 3 hours before alloy will oxidise. Hope that help

Good idea powder coating the block. When you change the decor you can change the colour.

If you really want to confuse people you could do one in a wood effect.Rather like the painted metal dashboard on some classic cars.

i like the booze rack too. the flowers spoil the effect somewhat though. i suppose that is a concession to the mrs?
