Ok, "mine" might be pushing it as its my latest company car / demonstrator so get to change it every 3-6 months but specced by me for my sole use unless we run out of pool cars to use for customer test drives.

I went for the following spec (limited to a £40,000 budget):

3.0D Luxury
Polaris White
Warm Charcoal interior
Jet headlining
19" Aquila alloys
825w Meridian Surround Sound system
Reverse camera
Front parking sensors

Thoughts?

What would others have done with the same budget?

Looks the biz Ashley. They do look good in white (though not as good as Status Greybiggrin)

Cheers Neil!

I know, I know, can't even get into an S unfortunately, let alone in a nice metallic frown

Polaris is free though!

Toying with the idea of doing the wheels in a nice gunmetal grey like your dark dracos. Definitely wouldn't do gloss black. Would have to be even more careful not to kerb them! Managed to get away with just a 1" scuff on my last one over the 6 months.

Ouch.

Had all mine replaced with the same as the lacquer started peeling on them all. Hopefully the new set will not go the same way. Still loving the car, and got 9.5k on it already. Damn thing keeps saying "drive me, drive me".

Very nice Ash. I think the XF looks stunning in Silver, but Italian Race Red would be my choice. smile

My last one was Rhodium Silver (now for sale wink )

Italian Racing Red is a £1,300 option! No way was i going to use up that much of my budget on a colour!

Have to say I'm loving the look of the Sport models, and the 3.0DS. There are a couple of sports around here, one in red looks superb.. love the black grill... Also saw 4 Sportwagons on a trip up to derby this week!!! three white one black. Stunning.

Nice use of the budget..What does a black pack weigh in at these days?

Also how do you rate the Meridian system? I've got the MY2010 PL 420 Watt system, which is not bad, though the sub seems to be a bit of an afterthought..

Looks great. So you're allowed to spec your car within budget ? I would have thought there would have been fairly close control on that to make sure it was the optimum spec for resale! But there again I suppose you know where the value is on the options list.

Thanks, Black pack is only available on the 3.0 "S" unfortunately and is £975.

A 2010 MY Premium Luxury would either have the 320w premium system as standard or the 440w Bowers & Wilkins (with DAB, 6 CD changer and IPod and USB interface).

The Meridian Surround is 825w and makes a much more efficient use of the watts over the out going 1,200w Bowers & Wilkins. It really is a brilliant system and the sub feels in no way an afterthought!

Within reason, but the theory is that if its something we would desire back as a used car in say 2-3 years then we shouldn't be too far wrong.

We use the same theory for our showroom cars and it seems to work as we have done two out of the showroom in the last couple of days smile

Looks lovely Ashley. Is there a way to turn off the DRL's? I love the look of the newer XF's from the front but think the DRL's really spoil it, they are so bright. Perhaps im in the minority!

Unfortunately not, it is now a legal requirement to have some lights on the front at all times. You used to be able to turn Audi's off but that was before it was mandatory to have them.

Ah, so mine's the 320W. Considering my home power amp is about 9W, it's all relative! I must say I wasn't too impressed with the B&W set-up, so I'm glad they got that sorted. Now, if they fit a decent Nav system...

@Paranoid, yep, the DRLs are a bit marmite according to owners' reactions on the xfforum, the gist being that the Mercedes-style lower blade ones would have been less IN YER FACE. The lights at least are a massive step forward, no more fiddling with sticky covers for trips to the continent, as they are legal over there unadjusted.

Changed my alloys to a nice gun metal finish today, no reason for it, just fancied a change and didn't want to go for the obvious gloss black. You like?

If its quiet tomorrow I will get some better pics.

Have to plug my wheel guys - "Whoops Wheel Fix It", mobile guys based in North London with some great kit in their vans. 2 normal down to earth hard working guys. Been using them every Saturday for a few years now and always pleased with their work.

Lovely car.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do they change the colour of the wheels so easily?

Paint, I assume. How permanent is it?

I never knew this was possible !

nice colour alloys, going to get the XJ alloys refurbed in that colour. Should be a good contrast against silver body
