Front wheel hub/wheel bearing noise
Discussion
I'm getting a scraping/grinding noise from the front n/s wheel. when I go round a corner the noise stops but returns on going straight.
I have removed the wheel and cleaned the rust from the spray shield thingy, as I was thinking this may be causing the noise. I have also made sure this isn't touching the rotor/disc. I can't see any stones stuck under the brake pad, and there is plenty of meat on the pads. The discs were new 4000 miles ago as were the pads. All to no avail.
When I spin the wheel by hand there doesn't seem to be a noise.I have tried holding the wheel top and bottom to see if there is any play in the bearing but all seems OK.
I am still thinking wheel bearing, any ideas of other possible causes?
