x308 new wings, easy peasy
Discussion
Hi all
the right front wing on my xjr had some rust on it, so i thought i would do something about it. and i thought i might as well do the pasenger wing also.
i managed to find 2 very good wings with absolutely no rust on them whatsoever, i had these professionally painted in PED ( anthracite black with a speckle) for £350. the wings were £150 for the pair.
Now bearing in mind i have absolutely no experience in car d.i.y whatsoever, i replaced both wings in 4 hours !!!
the finished job looks really good, well i think so. i am going to have the car t-cut and then see if i need to take it back to the sprayers if the wings need "blending in".
I also have the benefit of a second xjr in the same colour that is my spare part donor car, and there were a couple of times i needed to have a quick practise on that to make sure i didnt break something important.
if anyone intends taking on this project then please feel free to pm me if you need any pointers
