I've just taken the plunge and swapped the letters on the back of my car from XJ TDVI to XKR (I thought I'd do my bit to support my local Esso station).

Anyway, its a 56 plate new shape model and I just had a quick question about the auxiliary audio connections. I don't pick the car up for another week, so I can't actually sit in the thing to work it out.

In the glove box are the standard red and white connection sockets for an external music source and there is an "aux" graphic on the touchscreen. This bit I understand. However, there is also an iPhone/iPod cable in the centre armrest. I plugged my iPhone into it, but nothing came up on the audio display so I'm not quite sure how it works. Does it just work with non blue tooth iPods or is it just a charging point? The manual I've borrowed from the dealer makes not reference to any auxiliary connections to the audio system.

Thanks for any ideas you might have.

Thanks for the reply. I docked the phone via Bluetooth when I test drove the car but I hadn't understood how the music link up worked. I'll give it a go.

Many thanks.

Hi Andy,

You have the same car as me, good choice!! They are fantastic and really a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to fun/running costs and suprised how little it cost to insure /service and so far and from what I have read they are very reliable.

join the XCEC forum and there is some great deals to be had on insurance, but its a little quiet on the X150 but its getting better.

The iPod connection is not standard and it looks like you have lucked out and got a car with it installed as it cost about £350
not sure of the name of the module but the connection should work under the AUX on the stereo. Have a search on the above forum and there is quite a bit of info.

I'm just looking at exhausts at the mo as I think its a little muted.

cheers
Grant
