XKR 2002 - buying advice
Discussion

This morning my bro and I went for a spin in this. Originally in search for an 80s XJS, he fell in love with this peach of a 2002 / 120K kms black/red car.
This is an auto and supercharged to 400 brake. For me its a too tame car. But my bro likes the cruising character . . . and the blitzkrieg stoplight sprint abillity. Very relaxing to drive.
My Q: what do we need to look at? What is the trap here? A bit of advice appreciated, thanks.

Looks very nice. The 4.2 with the 6 Speed box is the model to go for.
There's plenty of buyers guides online, but have a look here:

or here:

Most of the engine/gear box gremlins were sorted by the time the 4.2 was launched. So best to check regular stuff, service history etc.
I bought an 03 XKR 4.2 Convertible back in Oct 12 and it's been fantastic. Go for it

Lots of buyers guides around.
Read this one if you haven't already http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=2719...
The only other thing I'd mention is that the red leather may be hard to resell! It's an acquired taste!
