I believe it's set by the idle air control valve (IACV). Renowned for getting mucky and sticking.Be aware that if you take the throttle position sensor off and/or muck about with the IACV you might need someone with a Jaguar diagnostic computer to set it up again. You should be all right to take the assembly off and clean it though.
