Afternoon all,

I have recently purchased an XJ220 rear wheel, which was apparently used during shakedown testing at Bruntingthorpe (very few survive, most were cut up or discarded of).

It bears many scars of high speed runs, but I am able to find very little information about what was actually carried out during these shakedowns?

Any help would be most appreciated smile

Some (very poor eBay) pictures;

You don't normally get kerb damage like that from "shakedown runs".

That's not kerb damage that's damage from being knocking around a workshop or warehouse for years.

Why did you buy it? Just for fun? How much was it?

Genuinely interested in this - I think it's a cool random eBay purchase. You could fix a circle of glass to the top and make a coffee table out of it... smile

Forgotten that I'd started this topic smile

Yup, this was an eBay purchase, £50 for the glass (the middle had to be cut elsewhere which raised the cost), add a small Carbon Fibre disc into the centre release so a bottle can be placed securely in the middle, and here we are.

Was purchased with the intention of creating a table and selling it, but I think I will get it refurbished, and maybe add some sort of lighting to it, and then keep it for a while. Was trying to find a Bridgestone Expedia for it as well, but had no luck frown
