After solving my slight coolant leak problem and fitting a new water pump, it seems my thermostat is on its way out. Perfect timing with the weather getting colder...anyway any hints and tips while changing it? seems like I have to remove it from under the car? 3.0 v6 by the way.

Yes its accessed from under the car just behind the radiator. The hose drops vertically and its in a housing at the top.
A tip that may be useful. If you disturb the coolant hose and it still has the spring style clips on it to hold it on, take them off and refit jubliee clips. There are stories on the jaguar forum of these failing once they have been disturbed and wrecking the engine.

When I did mine the top hose seal was gone too so it's worth the extra pennies to buy a new seal and do it all properly otherwise you have to swear a lot when you discover there's a new leak having changed the thermostat... silly
