I have a spare remote to programme to my car which I understand is dealer only but is the blade easy to do? Ordinary key cutting bar job? Will they replace just the blade bit or something more?

Thanks in advance

The part of the remote with the battery in can be done by you. The part with the blade in is dealer (or specialist) only. Cutting the key - I can't remember.

So far so good: The second hand remote I got was simple to reprogram:

1. Pull headlight stalk back
2. Turn key one click -- not to ignition on, just the first position
3. Flash headlights 5 times until beep heard from the back
4. Press button on each remote you want to program (including original one)

Job done. Now my new remote works fine all four buttons.

I'll take both my original and the new one to my local Tesco later who advertise key cutting including chipped keys. I'll see what they make of it from the hardware side. I suspect this won't be as easy.
