Thinking about one of these and got a few questions, how do the servicing costs compare to a std 5ltr XKR? How do you cope with the low front lip, I have a steep awkward drive and I am worried it will ground and damage the spoiler or hit it on a speed bump. How do you get on with the day to day driving, I imagine its compliant around town just a bit wild when it's wet and you put the power down. Any info gratefully received.

Hi

I have one.

The spoiler is its Achilles heel. A careful approach to speed bumps is so far ok. However where two roads often join each other there can be an angle that would mean your spoiler will make contact with the road. Unlike many spoilers that you may graze the underneath and you can live with it, with the XKRS spoiler being carbon it just breaks and it's a bin job.

They are about £1600/£1700 fitted inc vat. So you font want to do it too often. I am on my second one!

Aside from that it's a great car. Stunning to look at. Mine is stratus Grey. Sound incredible, especially with fuse 19 removed. So far since buying it it has been wet, cold and greasy and the summer tyres and all that power means you really struggle to get more than 40% of the power down. In the dry once the tyres have some heat in them it should be good.

It's also a really nice car to be in whether commuting, cruising, stretching its legs etc. I have ordered the new M4 that arrives in September and had planned to part with the XKRS. I think that may be a difficult decision and I may have to find a way to keep both. While the M4 will be a capable car it is not a rare beast like the Jaguar.

Think you need to try one. If you near Edinburgh come and be a passenger in mine.

All the best

That's my fear splitting the splitter, our drive is slightly steep of a hill. Think I would need to try it first to confirm that it would be ok. Have you had any other problems with yours?

No other problems. A great spirt scar.
