Safety recall for a 2003 XJ8
Discussion
Just had a letter from the nice people at Jaguar re a safety recall for my car (a 2003 XJ8), relating to a possible issue with rear brake pipes (seems so be an issue where dirt or moisture could get trapped between some sound insulation and the pipe, causing corrosion.
I have owned the car for almost 5 years, bought privately, serviced regularly by a very good specialist/independent. Never been near a main dealer in my ownership.
I will book it in, as silly not to. By coincidence it is also booked in for an MOT & Service with my Indie next week, so I'll be interested to see if the Main Dealer comes back with a list of "other" work that needs doing.
I abandoned the Jaguar main dealers some time ago, on a previous car due to basically bad customer service.
Anyone had this recall done ?
