Pick up my F type R next week. Tried everything else and for the money it is a really fun car, still can't believe I bought a Jag (Arthur Daley, golf clubs and my father in law) Maybe all the investment and brand re-positioning is starting to work - Cool Britannia!

Sold the Macca before I got arrested, simply the best fast car you can buy bar none - more like piloting a fighter jet than driving. Dodged plod for 2 years but not sure it could last, it will be sorely missed. Looking forward to my noisy, lairy Big Cat!

Congratulations! Excellent car.

I have a GTR and three 'R' Jags. (But not an F-Type unfortunately!)

The Jags are wonderful enjoyable driving cars. The GTR is just hard and fast and I'm currently looking to swap it for an F-Type R but there's quite a long waiting time for them at the moment.

How quickly are you getting yours?

Bought a demo, always love to buy on impulse - much more fun than waiting and changing your mind...I think it is only 3 months for a bespoke order and so not long

The more people think about Jaguar drivers being peeps that you describe..golf clubs, old fogies etc...the better. It just leaves us Jaguar owners who know better the field to themselves!

Mind you, I am golfer, old fogie etc. I believe I can still handle the 380 bhp in my newly acquired XF in a responsible manner. I do like it when someone younger in a brilliantly painted, stripped, lowered, straight through exhaust Golf/Vauxhaul/Ford or something similar appears nearby...I just purr away and leave them to wonder how come!

I know what you mean, wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing when I offloaded my Porsche for a V6 F-Type, but the brand is definitely shifting. I ordered my F-Type over the phone/internet so never actually met the dealer until collection day. The Dealer Principle's face was priceless when he saw me and when I asked if he was OK, he just said 'I'm so happy. I've been dreaming of the day we sell a sports car to someone your age'. So I do think the old fogie/golf club thing will be quickly forgotten. And, it's an incredible car. I only have the V6 too so yours will be even better, but it is truly an outstanding piece of theatre and a superior all round package to my previous 2 Porsche's in my opinion. Pics when you get it please!

My dealer made no such references to my age. Cheeky barsteward. I'll be having words...

The brand has been changing for years. Glad you boys are catching up wink

Congratulations on the F-Types though. I hope you enjoy them smile

Congrats on the new purchase. If you're heading to Goodwood, look out for the very special Jaguar the new JLR premium division 'Special Vehicle Operations' will be revealing there this year. It's the nuts..

Thanks Harry, it must be tremendously satisfying being involved in the company at the moment, the product is really starting to deliver on the promise. Still some way to go to change the image with the wider public and the dealers ( or the one I dealt with anyway - I was somewhat of a novelty...) but keep doing what your doing and we'll have a brand that we can all be very proud of.
