h asked about these cars to which Busterbulldog said walk away from a car with pulley upgrades, yet despite prompting failed to clarify and for 7 months there has been not a peep from anyone. As these cars appear for sale what is the story here? Am considering a 4.2 R as my next toy.

The top one is simple and is supposed to offer a mild increase in output, maybe 20bhp, the lower one offers more scope. There are various air intake mods out there as well but it seems to get big gains, you're also looking at exhausts and cats. It can I gather raise issues with cooling and money needs to be spent on getting that in A1 order as well.
Loads of info on www.jaguarforum.co.uk from people who've done it.
Hard to fault it in standard form with 'just' 400 bhp though

Speak to Tom Lenthall, website of the same name, garage based near Reading.
He worked on my Stype R for a few years and is well known in Jag circles. I believe he fits upgraded supercharger kits/pulleys/exhausts/intake etc.
+1 for TomHe worked on my Stype R for a few years and is well known in Jag circles. I believe he fits upgraded supercharger kits/pulleys/exhausts/intake etc.
His phone numbers are
0118-976-2899 and 07966 267806
Or you could do is ahve what I've done and that to fit a larger Supercharger
I've had a 2.6Lt KennyBell that gives a huge increase in power
I know he has a second hand 2.1Lt that would be a lot cheeper but still give a good increase
