Hardly a serious rendering - looks like a piece of clipart. Cars don't end up looking like the concepts anyway.

Sometimes cars do end up looking rather like the concept - look at the Boxster and BMW 4 series concept vehicles - but I concede that it is unlikely that this ... monstrosity will see the roads looking like this. I'd be expecting the Pink Panther to climb out of it if so.

Can we have a whip-round and buy Gerry McGovern a set of French Curves?

That looks like something I could do after a 30 min YouTube tutorial.

I'm guessing it wasn't meant for release.

Fcensoredk I hope that's not serious. I'm a Jaguar fan but that's hideous.

They'll tone that down a bit, maybe curve off a few corners. It could look like Chrysler 300C coupé. Not too bad I suppose.

At this point, I'm convinced this is one of the greatest wind-ups ever.

There's just no way this could be serious.

True but they normally bear at least something in common. I quite like the glass house (reminds me of the Nissan GTR). The rest though....!

I think it's pretty interesting looking...in a good way. I can imagine a production car looking quite good; a "statement" car. Shame it won't have a V8/12.

Not so sure on the interior, but since they're going for high end luxury I'd imagine it'll look and feel much nicer when all finished.

Maybe not in pink, mind you.

I guess you could pull out the batteries etc and fit one if you had enough skill... then respray it and put a proper Jaguar logo on it!

Like you I am pretty upbeat about it even to the extent of seeing the Jaguar DNA in those curves over the rear arches . I am amazed how People on here freely accepted an SUV being labelled a Jaguar yet have a problem with this ?
Its obviously going ahead to head with the Taycan at a similar price point and I wish them well . Clearly its a volume game as there is no future in being a niche manufacturer (TVR , Bristol , Jensen) and nor would it support all those jobs in the West Midlands . Jaguar has spent most of its life in the shadow of bankruptcy so I can see the thinking about this conquering of new buyers . I am worried about two things , firstly have the Government got it all wrong about its timetable for EV manufacture ( I believe they have ) and secondly have they got the quality sorted ?

Wasn't me!

The FAB 2000 thing actually makes the previous visual - the Snowplough - look quite good!

Some do.

Concept unveiled in January 2003, at the North American International Auto Show.

Production version. Customer deliveries began in the Autumn 2005.

When a concept car looks that good (and the order book soon filled up for 2 years production), there is no need to alter anything.

I wish Jaguar well, but an 18 months wait before customer deliveries.commence must be a huge risk.
Tata will presumably be studying advanced order numbers and will have time to 'pull the plug', if they choose to.
