Hi all,

Jaguar XE 2016 diesel here.

Had a weak battery / slow start recently and since then I’ve had multiple warning lights come up on the dash – ABS, traction control and parking brake.

Car still drives absolutely fine with no noticeable issues.

Has anyone come across this before on these cars? Is it likely just a low voltage / battery related issue, or something more serious?

Any advice appreciated!

sorry I don't have direct extensive experience of the xe, but assuming it shares the same systems as the xj, then yes they hate low voltage. My theory is it's to do with the oxide layer on the aluminium earth points. I've also had a dodgy voltage control unit on a car which produced just weird warnings that things weren't working.

I've had it when I;ve left the car for an extended period without use as I've driven along the car gets better with the voltage.

Charge the battery or change the battery, if that fails get the earth posts cleaned.

Thanks, that makes sense.

I charged the battery fully yesterday but the warning lights are still there.

Do these usually need clearing with a diagnostic tool afterwards, or do they sometimes clear themselves after a few drives?
