Locking wheel nuts

I didn't get a tool for this from Jaguar earlier this year when I purchased my XKR and wonder what it's like? Could not quite see how one would work as the whole "nut" cover spins?? Any ideas - must be something easy, just hope I don't get a flat when she comes out of storage in the Spring as the spare wheel won't work if I can't get the other off

Pull off the bit that spins and the locking nut is underneath, the "key" should be in the boot or the glove. good luck.

Thanks for that, I need to pull harder then as I tried before but thought I might break it! Need to look for the socket now ......

There should be a 'plastic tube' (best way to describe it) in you boot that removes the stainless steel cap, just push it over and pull, should come off easy.

If I was you I would throw the lock nuts away and just buy ordinary ones, they are a waste of time and the keys shear very easy.

Let alone that you can buy a tool in halfords that will remove it without the key so if someone did want to nick your wheels they would be armed with that little bit of kit anyway!

I'm with XK with this one. I had a nightmare getting the locking nut off and vowed never to use them again and swapped them for normal nuts. I think that if they want them they are going to take them anyway.

After breaking two of the "plastic" keys I too removed the locking nuts, completely useless all you need is an undersized socket and a hammer to remove them.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll ask Jag for wheel nuts to replace the locking ones in due course.

don't be silly guys jag wheels are worth big money keep your lock nuts on.
If you have lost the key get a 19mm socket and a big hammer to get them off.
I got a set of ebay for 14 pounds.
You fools to not use them had a guys xjr in my yard one night, wheels where gon the next day because he had none cost me 400 quid to get a set.
