X300 cutting out

I've a X300 XJ 3.2 which failed to start - after jump starting it cut out 1/2 mile later at a junction (never done that before)and was jumped started again and the battery was found to be shagged and was replaced.

Driving home from the garage it cut out again, started OK on the fresh battery and so far hasn't done it again. Should I be worried about something else being wrong? The block connector is in top shape.

I have a absolutely vital long journey next week and cannot risk not making it.

Any thoughts? I guess a good test run tomorrow will be a good idea.

Well nothing happened and I made by important trip. So, er, this may be one of the dullest threads ever.

I'll put the cutting out to a freak occurrence and carry on as normal.
