Been offered a V6 X Type, reasonably cheap.
Car has done 60000, FSH.
When does the drive belt need changing?
Will do the usuals when i get it, oil, filters etc.

Any car I would purchase, unless I knew that the belt had been changed within the last few months I wuld change

It is not worth the problems for the sake of some £££

You say you are getting it cheep, then you have the spare cash to spend on it

I don't know a great deal about X types, only what i read on these forums,is it auto or manual? Many say, the manual is the one to go for , as the auto is very fragile. Nice cars though, especially the estate.

I reckon it is one of the most underated cars out there, hence why you can pick them up for a good price.
just one to make sure I am on top of it all maintenance wise.

Hi,

Not sure what 'Drive Belt' you are refering to?

The V6 X-Type/S-Type engines both have timing chains so their is no 'Critical' belt to change, the X-Type has a front accesory drive belt and a rear accesory drive belt, both are cheap and fairly simple to change from memory I think they have a 10yr/100,000 mile interval specified by Jag.
