XJ8 Reduced Performance Warning (amber)

I had the above warning come up on by dash on starting the car. It felt as though it was mis-firing on a couple cylinders. I stopped, waited 5 minutes and restarted and it ran OK. Any thoughts ?.

had same prob on an xk depending on year (upto 2001) ish the throttle body can be an issue, mine would go into limp mode but clear when re started... until it became too bad then a replacement was reqd, ??? your car may be same set up ??

Yes, it's a 2001. I'll check that too.

plug in a fault decoder and then google the fault code, think any garage will do that for about £20 non jaguar!!
