Bought an X type for a winter beater in January and quickly found that driving my wife's legacy equated to driving a tractor compared to the X type. Saturday I put a deposit down on an 03 XJR that is nothing short of show room condition for my wife. All you Brits should be thankful for idiots like me who help stave off redundancy by owning 3 British cars and having to rely on a couple of 40 year old Honda cycles for reliablity. As soon as Triumph comes out with a nice small bore twin or a single they I'll bite. I enjoy redlining my CB175 too much and know a bigger bike will only result in fines.

The car is freaking gorgeous. Can't wait to for the loan paperwork to be done so we can pick it up. Oh and she has absolutely no idea how much power the thing has.

Simple, the more that are on the road, the more people see on the road the less they forget about Jaguar here in the US. Then there are the parts that need to be made to keep it on the road another 20 years.

You've avoided fines by sticking to a smaller bike, now you are getting a Very fast and powerful XJR!!
Welcome to the world of speeding fines. These are great cars, I hope you enjoy it.

Exactly, I just coundn't stand driving the wife's car anymore when we went places.smile I don't really think there will be too much relability wise wrong compared to most other lux cars but the other car is a lovely little TVR 280i that just yesterday one of the factory wires simply fell out of its connector, my 5 year old was a little cranky sitting in the pass seat in 90 degree heat for 20 minutes while I hotwired the fuel pump directly to the battery to get it home.

That and I keep myself alive. TVR did net me my first ticket in 10 years or so the other week. Now I got to watch my speed a little more.

I managed to get a few speeding fines in the good ole U S of A.

I guess it was a bad move flashing that state trooper out of the way when the 100mph he was doing I considered not fast enough laugh

Lol i am in the same boat. I really think i need to change the wife's car. I really can not stand the lack of power. We have a ford Focus 1.6 Zetec and a Honda s2000.

I am thnking of selling my own car to replace it with a high performance car but it would make more sense to sell the wife's car and replace that with something nicer.

I am being greedy... I want my own lush high performer.
